THE ELIXIR EXPERIENCE

Elixir will take your team on a journey to rediscover their personal, team and business purpose in the wilderness. Key team effectiveness challenges relating to your company will be brought to life through the context of Nature. The interactive and experiential learning methodology ensures that your team has a fun, enriching and social experience while internalising the key values and principles needed to take your company forward. The experience is hosted in untouched and truly remarkable wilderness areas that leave each participant with a sense of awe and connection to their team, themselves and their creator. The process is designed to support specific budget and time requirements and can include guided walks, facilitated discussions, personal coaching, field work and group exercises.

Evolutionary Biology tells us that Sub Saharan Africa was once the pinnacle of human evolution and the birth place of fire, technology and culture. Tracing the expansion of humans form the Cradle of Min kind, it becomes clear that humans owe their success to their ability to learn, express, innovate, and collaborate with their fellow man. Many organisations however have lost touch with these core flagstones of human development! To re-engage with these universal principles, we need to take people on a journey back to the dawn of time so that they can marvel at their place in the planets history and reconnect with its wisdom. This experience is designed to engage people in the importance of learning, innovation and collaboration. The process involves each participant completing the Maropeng tour and exhibition and then the group follows through with engaging in various team creativity process that provide new skills, paradigms and attitudes.

THE SPIRIT OF UBUNTU EXPERIENCE 

The spirit of Ubuntu is a once in a life time catalyst in engaging your staff in the true value of diversity, collaboration and engagement. This experience is a catalyst in fundamentally shifting the attitude of employees towards the values of Ubuntu while engaging staff in practices that can be practically applied in developing an integrated and synergistic culture. The experience involves engaging participants in the underpinnings of the Ubuntu philosophy with perspectives from leaders such as Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. This is followed up with practical group exercises and interactions that allow people to practice the principles while building towards the creation of the Spirit of Ubuntu Orchestra. For people to consistently demonstrate Ubuntu in their workplace, they need to be 100% convinced that it will support them personally and in the organisation. To do this, we take your whole organisation, many of whom would have had no musical experience, and we use the principles of Ubuntu to create an orchestra that makes such inspiring music, that it leaves people enthused to live and work by the spirit of Ubuntu

TREEAM BUILDING                                                                                        

The tree is a symbol of growth and transformation. Just like the tiny acorn grows into the majestic tree, so too are ideas the catalyst in people’s development. Planting inspiring ideas into the youth of South Africa is the key to nurturing the future of South African society. Elixir and Greenpop collaborate to facilitate learning enriched and interactive tree planitng days. Nothing can be more enriching than a group of epmployees coming together to plant tree's and seeds of wisdom in the youth of South Africa.

Key Facilitation Objectives & Benefits

  • The organisation can enrich it's CSI program by planting an unlimited amount of tree's in some of the most empoversihed schools in South Africa.
  • The outdoors provides a perfect space for people to relax, de-stress and to connect with people in new environments.    
  • Create a quality space for employees to collaborate while also interacting and learning with the youth at the school. The groups will learn valuable facilitation, communication and problem solving skills which support effective teamwork and personal leadership.
  • The group will use the "Native American Talking Stick" to engage in groups about challenges, opportunities and wishes that have been impacting both the company, the school and the community.This powerful community building excercise optimises organisational development
  • The tree is a powerful metaphor for growth and it will be used as the basis for discussion around personal development. Each member of a group will be invited to share insight that tree’s provide and which can be related to thewir role within thier team.
  • The group will use the CPSI Creative Problem solving model to create tomorrow’s solutions for their specific organisation. These solutions will be based on the wisdom of tree’s and various growth principles in nature. The same wisdom will then be applied to creating solutions for the school and the surrounding community. Each participant will internalise the key principle required to be effective in their role. These solutions will be visualised on vision baords that will be placed at the foot of the value tree.
  • The whole organisation will create a giant root structure using rope that is circled around the companies value Tree. This root system will act as a powerful symbol of the team building process. This image can be used in PR and various other internal communication strategie
